The foundation of the Church and the Monastery de São Pedro de Folques probably dates back to the 11th century.
In 1620 the Monastery was incorporated into the University College of Santo Agostinho.
The complex consists of a church and a monastery. The oldest part of the monastery is organised around two cloisters.
