The Vila Galé Group, which was awarded the concession for the rehabilitation and operation of a hotel unit in the Convento de S. Paulo, in Elvas, under the REVIVE program, inaugurated this new hotel unit on June 22, 2019.

The Vila Galé Collection Elvas - Historic Hotel, Conference & Spa, a 4* hotel, has 79 rooms, two restaurants, bar, outdoor pool, two meeting rooms, an event hall and Satsanga spa with massage rooms, jacuzzi, Turkish bath, sauna and indoor swimming pool.

The rehabilitation of this property and its conversion into a hotel unit represent an investment of nine million euros and the creation of 43 jobs.

This was the first tender launched under the REVIVE Program. The contract was signed on 21.10.2016.

On July 29, 2016, was launched an international public tender for the rehabilitation of the Convento de São Paulo, in Elvas.

On August 3, 2016, a Memorandum was signed between the Municipality of Elvas, the Cultural Heritage Department, the Regional Culture Department of Alentejo and the  Portuguese Tourism Board (Turismo de Portugal, I.P.), establishing the terms of the collaboration between the parties, aiming at the implementation of the rehabilitation project for this property under REVIVE program.

On October 21, 2016, following the referred public tender, Convento de S. Paulo was concessioned to VILA GALÉ - Sociedade de Empreendimentos Turísticos, SA for the installation and operation of a 4 * hotel unit.
