This sanatorium, designed by architect Raul Lino, was inaugurated in 1909, a decade before the creation of the Caramulo Health Resort.
Its location, strategically far from the urban centre, garanteed the purity of the air and contained the spread of the disease.
The south façade of the sanatorium has a rhythmic, elegantly proportioned gallery with 3 floors.
